Take chenille and wrap thread over chenille until you have it a little longer than the body your going to tie.

Take thread from holder and do a couple of wraps around chenille. Now wrap your main thread over it. Cut excess off. Wrap thread to where chenille first tied down.

Take your yellow chenille and make a wrap around needle. Take black chenille and place behind yellow. Make one wrap around needle. Place yellow behind the black and then make wrap around needle. Do this until you have the length of body you want.

Tie all the tag ends down on the hook. Tie on eyes at this time leaving enough room for chenille at front of fly. Move thread back to where legs will be tied on.

Tie on black chenille. Wrap hook and over and under eyes. Bring chenille back to where thread is and tie down and cut. Tie on legs at this time. Trim legs to length and your done.

I prefer sub-surface. It doesn’t float well. It would take a lot of paste floatant to keep this fly on top.
