mrjim 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 OSD: Here's my first try at a light Hendrickson dry. I'm tying from Dave Hughes Trout Flies and he calls for a body of urine-stained male fox belly fur. I have the fur but I don't know about the urine-stained part..... How exact do you want these patterns to be?? http://www.flytyingforum.com/uploads/galle...eaae5709c5d.jpg other side of fly: http://www.flytyingforum.com/uploads/galle...eaaee235b7b.jpg The hackle on this fly from a Metz #3 piece I got with my tying kit and leaves a lot to be desired... I may try a dark Hendrickson instead (have a nice 1/2 cape Whiting dark dun).
Guest Report post Posted January 16, 2005 They can be standard patterns or your own vershion it don't matter. Yes a metz #3 isn't what you want for a dry flies, but as I said in the first post it can be Hendrickson Nymphs, Emerges, Dun or Spinners. So if you don't need to be tying drys if you don't want to. OSD. Looks like a nice fly
