Miro

Beginner from Brazil

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone!

let me introduce myself. - My name is Vitor Hugo Miro and I live in Fortaleza/Brazil.

I started to fly fishing a year ago, but I am a complete beginner in the art of fly tying.

Recently, I bought a rotary vise, I believe it was a good investment.

Currently, I’m buying various materials, but without much guidance.

I intend to tie streamers for snooks and peacok bass.

I hope to learn a lot here and to cooperate with you to exchange knowledge.

Hugs.

P.S: Perhaps, I apologize for my English, but I still do not have a lot of practice beyond reading.

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing the flies you use for snook and peacock bass. They are two species I hope to catch some day. Your english is excellent!

Welcome to the site Vitor. You live in a beautiful area that I hope to fish one day. There is plenty of information on the site about the Snook fly's but not much on the Peacock bass. I would recommend looking at some of the Pike fly's that are posted for ideas for the Peacock Bass

A rabbit or squirrel strip leech pattern is very easy to tie and will work for those species.

All you need are tanned rabbit or squirrel hides that are cut into strips. They are available precut in fly shops but you can cut them with a home made cutter.

The hide can be cut with or across the grain of the fur. You want to cut with the grain.

Thanks guys,

- I’m looking forward to learn, tie and post some pictures of my flies here.

- If there is not much information about flies for peacock bass, I want to collaborate.

- I believe these bunny leech can produce good flies for Peacock Bass and Golden Dorados. In black these fly going to imitate a prey well known as tuvira.

Bem vindo Miro. I hope we get to see some pictures of your fishing spots down there. BTW - your English is a lot better than my Portuguese. When it comes to fishing, we all speak the same language.
