challeug 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2013 Two i tied up today, had to get materials from the shop, because i dont have a very broad assortment of supplies yet, but at any rate, im proud of them. i lost my original in the car on the way home, so i was goin off my memory. i know i could have googled it, but i figured wth. i did one with ice dub peacock black and one with a mix of senyos laser dub:green chartreuse/hareline dub mckenzie green. comments welcome. SilverCreek 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2013 Shouldn't be too hard to fix if you want. Actually, your fly is a pupa. The video is technically a later stage emerger with a prominent wing. I guess I don't understand putting a bead on a stage of an insect that is found in or just under the film. The Gary LaFontaine sparkle pupa is tied without a bead so my recommendation is to tie some without beads. Here are versions of a patten I tie. The the first photo is the unveiled fly, middle photo is version of the sparkle pupa with a wrapped veil, and the last photo is a wetted veiled fly.
