Piker20 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2013 That's truly hellish when you return home to find that. Looks like that must have been really bad winds.

DrVette 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2013 I feel for you Steve. I had similar happen to me about 8 years ago...i was home when it happened though. Since then i have been fanatical in getting rid of large trees in my yard. The problem trees around here are the elms...They are actually a giant distructive weed to me. Â I realy feel sorry for you about the fish. I think that your constant posting on those set-ups shows just how much you love them. I can't imagine how bad you feel about them. Take care and good luck.
hairwing 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2013 Elms have cost me about $10 grand in the last 15 years. Dadtz alot -o-moo- la. Steve..that's a hunk o trunk you've got to deal with. Do you have a wood burner? I'd be over with my chain saws and trailer but you live too damn far away. How come those trees can find those sheds like it was a purpose in their lives ? Too bad about the fish. I know it's not so much the money as it is the attachment to the animals you have nurtured and cared for. Bumma.
netabrookie 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2013 That's really terrible. I really hated to see your property damaged and hear of the loss of your fish. There has been some trees down around this area because of all the rain and with the saturated ground it doesn't take much of a wind to bring them crashing down. The end of a vacation is bad enough without coming home to a real smack in the face.
oldtrout58 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 Crap, that sucks.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 Wow, Steve, I am so sorry to see and hear this. You work so hard on those tanks and getting everything right for the fish. Did you lose the Bonsai trees with that canopied area? I guess there's always the silver linings ... it hit the shed and not the house. My condolences on the losses ... Â Mike
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2013 Mike, my OCD would not let me leave my trees brother. I took them with me, so they are fine. Plus I "found" a couple small pines at my cabin which are gonna be part of a "raft" with the lay down style trunk they already heave. Â Anyway, I alreay reworked the 55g tank and have already restocked it, I'll start another post on that;)

Spanky29ca 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Thats a real shame Steve, I had a 100 gallon salt water reef tank that was the victim of a power outage while I was away and lost everything, I pretty much quit after that. I'm glad you got your aquarium back going again, it's a wonderful hobby but definatly not cheap. Hope there is a bright side somewhere in this for you

mikechell 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 Steve, Did you get all this mess cleaned up, yet? I know when the hurricanes of '04 came through, well, there are still houses with incomplete roof repairs from insurance faux pas'. I hope all your stuff is fixed.
