Primitive1 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2013 Hi all, glad to join and look forward to future community sharing! A little about me, half a century old, married and have a son and we all enjoy fly fishing. My wife and I married a little over a decade ago over the Vermillion Gorge in MN and fly-fished for smallies, pike and muskie for our honeymoon. Not much has changed over the years other than my son has joined in and the fun continues. On a rather ironic note, though I have fly-fished and tied for over 30 years, I had never caught a trout on a fly rod...until recently on our 10yr anniversary to the North Fork of the White River...and caught some real beauties (wild rainbow)...what a real treat for the both of us! Anyway, my passion is really smallies in Missouri's waterways with Panfish and Largemouth taking second place. I make my own rods, leaders and flies for the family...I have some pics I'll share from some recent time at the tying bench...though I need to locate the appropriate forum. Lastly, I'm in the process of getting the hardware for a 10', 6wt Sage VXP blank that I'm looking to modify to a nymph/switch type rod...should be fun and look forward to expanding my knowledge...let me know if others have some experience to share in my latest hybrid creation! Cheers, Craig (aka Primitive1 - due to the fact I make primitive self bows/arrows etc... as well).

Guest Report post Posted September 18, 2013 Welcome from a fellow Missourian. What part are you from? I'm from Mexico. Dave Holy Small World - me too!! Mexico, MO born and raised, MHS class of 1988. How about that! Wow, that is amazing. I am originally from Fulton,MO but moved to Mexico in 1966 to go to work at Green's. I retired in 1998 when they were bought out and closed. I figure you are around 43 years old so probably went to school with my oldest son Michael who is a little younger at 40. Were you related to Charlie Anderson? Bryon Anderson 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2013 Welcome from a fellow Missourian. What part are you from? I'm from Mexico. Dave Holy Small World - me too!! Were you related to Charlie Anderson? Dave Dave, My dad, Donald Anderson, worked at Green's for 38 years. He worked in Dry Press pretty much that whole time, I believe. Everyone at the plant who knew him called him Andy. He retired just before they were bought out, maybe a year before. I am not related to any Charlie Anderson that I know of, although there are an awful lot of my relatives in and around Mexico and Auxvasse -- Dad had 8 brothers and sisters, so I have cousins all over that area. I am indeed 43, so I would have been in school at the same time as your son. If he is 40, he was probably in my sister Amy's class (class of 1991). I'm glad to meet you, and glad to know the old hometown is so well represented on this site!
