BassMouth87 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 2 dozen intruder shanks pre-done and ready to tie at will. I prefer tying up a few dozen at a time so I can just tie a few everyday after work without having to worry about all the prep work.
tctrout 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 Here's my newest YouTube fly tying tutorial, this one on extended bodies for mayflies (especially for larger ones, such as the green drake, slate/isonychia, etc.). There are countless methods for extended bodies, though I prefer this one in situations that require more floatability. Enjoy! TC

Wavey1988 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 Size 14 GRHE. Tied up a whole bunch of these. Been experimenting with split thread dubbing techniques, which is how I did the thorax. And, I spotted a load of carp in a local canal, I've had luck with these before, It's a black and peacock spider, with CDC behind the hackle, which isn't too visible in this pic

Piker20 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 Yeah I think the sea trout will love it. Used the spey type feathers from the bottom edge of the guinea skin to make a nice sparse tail and collar. Two for the tail and one for the collar.

I like the rubber band grub. Have you tried any with only the top coated to save that chewy grubby texture in the bottom?
