Losthackle 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2013 A little pick up today from our local craft and fabric chain store (Spotlight) $3 each. The one on the right for wiggle discs, but the one on the left was a purely instinctive impulse purchase. Any ideas? I thought they might make interesting crab bodies & I wonder if they would work as wobble discs. They are beads so there is a hole through the long axis. Al Beatty 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2013 Hi Losthackle, We've used the larger round ones with the hole in the middle to subsurface streamers/buggers to make the fly duck'n dodge under the water. Take care & ...
tidewaterfly 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2013 Interesting find! Should work. In the past I've tried large sequins for the wiggle disc idea, and have used them glued to the face of cylinders for making poppers. Let us know how they work out for you! Losthackle 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2013 Worked like a charm...great action particularly when teamed with craft fur and marabou streamers. Our local "salmon" ..(.Arripis trutta, kahawai in New Zealand) loved them...but then again they aren't too discriminating! Have yet to try them on the trout. Flat Rock native 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2013 Another craft store coup. circulars should work great on tippet attached disc, and will be great on tubes or long-shanked hooks where you don't interfere with the hook gap. Still thinking about uses for the others but you can never have too many options when trying to head-up a baitfish pattern.
