Black and white flower bug....

Nice shot, great focus. Do you have the color version to post, I've got to wonder if the color version would'nt have more impact. That being said, you did a good job converting with a very good tonal range.

Terje-

Excellent images. I think it works both ways in color and b&w. As Kirk said, great tonal range.

Bill

Thanks a lot, Bill :-) :-)

When do you want a UK agent and how many dry flies will you pay me in??

Love them both. Are you planning on doing prints of your stuff similar to the rising trout guy?

I am not fond of black and white images ... but the wings are stunning in B&W. They are beautiful in color too, though, along with the rest of the picture.

Terje,

I really like the black and white image. The color version is great but the black and white leaves your mind to rely on memory for colors. There is no distractions with different hues of flashy colors and only different tones to perceive depth and texture. Have you ever considered a sepia image to give some of your photographs that "old" look? If you take Piker up on his idea of having a UK agent then maybe you might need a U.S. agent as well... GREAT work Terje.

Take Care,

Tony

Thanks, mikechell :-)

I love both b/w and colour photos. In black and white the light, shadows etc stands out better in many cases and gives the photo a different look that i like but it depends on the image what i prefer :-) :-) ..... anyway it´s exiting to try both :-)

Thanks a lot, Tony :-)

I agree with you on black and white photos.

I think sepia to often gives a "fake" colour and becomes kind of overkill so i rather give the photo a touch of warmth instead but in this case i did not do anything other than converting it into black and white :-)

I´ll let you know if i need a US agent :-) :-) :-) :-)

Terje,

After thinking about it a little more I have to agree with you about the sepia. If you are trying to produce an image that looks older than it really is then I guess its ok but for your style of photography I think that I was way off base. We will leave the sepia to the folks that want to dress up and pretend that the photo is a century or so old. I am anxious to see whatever it is that you post next. Just remember that macro and wolf do not mix.....

Terje, they do both look great. I like the way the B&W makes the wings look like thick rigid glass but I also like the vivid yellow-orange of the bee contrasting beautifully with the purple flower.

Nice macro either way.
