Shmang 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2013 Bigdewy- I am with you-- I don't want more cowbell I want more Peacock! Love that stuff. Sounds like we have more flies to come in this week and next - if we get them all in early I will get them out as soon as possible. Thanks
netabrookie 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2013 Shmang, I am glad they made it and thanks very much for the compliment. Thanks for hosting and I am anxious to see all of the flies from the other swappers. I would have commented yesterday but the ice here had the dish all screwed up. Thanks again and Take Care, Tony
Shmang 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2013 Bigdewy's Sheep Creek Specials arrived today and they really are another spectacular set of flies. Each fly is identical to each other and that is a feat that I can't duplicate- so color me jealous. He says that they are more of a still water pattern but they scream "freestone" stream to me. Thank you Duane for the contribution to the swap.. Take care
bigdewy 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2013 Glad they made the trip in one piece Matt. Thanks for the kind words about my flies. This pattern is a definite must for Great Basin and Sierra stillwaters in my book. Sheep Creek Special Strikes Again Thanks again for hosting Matt!!! vicrider 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2013 Mine will get tagged and sent out tomorrow. Have a few others to tag and ship and will be caught for December's ties. Now to get busy on January flies. One of the easiest of all is the empty your box of Horseshoes but I'm darned if I can decide what to send. Find it easier to have a theme and go with it like the herl fly theme. Figure if I get some in the mail tomorrow they'll be just ahead of the biggest Christmas shipping rush.
Shmang 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 Vicrider: I am sure we all will enjoy your efforts. Looking forward to what you come up with.
Shmang 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 I had to work late last night but I did make the time to open up the package from J-Kno and he set a dynamic soft hackle pattern the Lite Brite Soft Hackle. I am a huge SH fan and I think after getting his offering everyone else will be too. He incorporated lots of triggers into the fly- flash, peacock shimmer, segmentation, and soft hackle fibers - that I think will be winner - winner chicken dinner in the water. Way to go J-Kno! I have three made in USA Medalists. I have one that I bought in the 50's. I still use it on occasion.

bigdewy 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2013 Yes Bob, it's a Medalist 1494½. I love fishing with a Medalist and have been lucky enough to snap up quite a few over the years. They are hard to beat in my book.
