Saltybum 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2013 Personally I hope to tie some new things with some fox hair to target some different salt water species and get back to the smokey mountain streams next summer ( missed it this year due to finances and total knee replacement ) and just plain get on the water more. fyshman69 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2013 To actually tie and fish more in 2014. I have been on a 10 year terrible slowdown. Started in 2002 with home construction, 2003 went back to college and finished in June '05. Son was born in sept '05. Work got crazy busy on a long term project in '06 and finished late spring 2012. eide 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2013 Most likely too many goals, but: First Atlantic Salmon would be on the top list of 2014! That, and the evergoing 1kg brown trout on dryfly in the lakes just north of Oslo
Crackaig 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2013 Some plans some goals, plans first. In January a Fishing Coaching qualification. March will see me at the fishing fair at Roadford Fishery in Devon and at the Devon Branch of the Fly Dressers Guild. In July I'll be attending the Irish International Fly Fair followed by a few days fishing over there. In the new trout season I will be working as a guide. And goals. Find some good accessible river trout fishing. Do more salmon fishing. Get away for some grayling fishing (none around here so it means a trip). If circumstances permit I'd like to get to Umbria again to fish. The first rule of catching big fish is to fish where there are big fish, and there's some huge ones there. The other place to try to visit are the Shetland isles. Dry fly fishing for large wild browns. Between the trips I'm looking to do more salt water fishing. Cheers, C. flytire 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2013 goal for 2014? i havent figured out my goal for today yet! 2014 1. return to yellowstone national park area for probably the last time (getting older and not as portable as i used to be) 2. a guided float trip on the madison river 3. lose 15 pounds (a resolution that normally never happens) and more bicycle riding 4. stop buying more fly tying materials and fly fishing equipment 5. stop subscribing to domestic and foreign fly tying/fishing magazines 6. deduct more from my paycheck to my retirement account 7. create a materials kit for a newbie tyer from the hoard of my material inventory and give it away free 8. stay healthy 9. make a will (anybody have one?) 10. find new fly fishing/tying forums to post on 11. spend more time on the local ponds, lakes and streams in my area 12. use/lose/sell some of the 3000+ plus flies i have in dozens of fly boxes 13. transfer my blog from blogger to word press (has anybody done it before. pm me how it went) 14. write more blog articles than i did in 2013 15. take care of my elderly father (86 years old) (he loves the local casinos) 16. stop participating in fly swaps 17. stop attending fly fishing shows (they're a rehash year after year) 18. tie more flies to add to my page on hans' website and finally with this post being #4600, i'll be taking a rest from posting on this forum. (too many confrontations lately) i bid you all adieu!
Piker20 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2013 Well Norm id be sorry to see you retire from the forum completely. Stay about in the background. And if you ever relax your stance on the 49state thing id buy a mystery fly box or two if you think of thinning them out.
