January Flies from the Vise

HI Flysmallie

Love the Bite Me eyes you have on the top fly.

Can you share where you got them from as I have a Soft Plastic Lure Company called Bite Me Baits in South Africa

Clear Cure Goo makes them. http://www.clearcuregoo.com/page28/page28.html

CCG has some of the best eyes on the market and are really great people.

Thanks

One for sunday morning:

Hey eide, I have a question for you, and I am in no way trying to be offensive

I notice on most all of your hair wing flies that you have your wing stick straight up, as opposed to have it lay down along the top of the body. Is there a reason for that? I have no idea so it would be great to learn something from you! Thanks

Matt

Piker20 explains the style good: I use Arctic Fox and Temple dog for my hairwings and they flow great in the water! I'm just getting into hairwings this winter, and being from Norway this style of tying and the patterns used for salmon over here is where I get the style from

ok thanks!! you learn something new every day. I really do like the flies you tie.

Matt

Crackleback ... have you floated that frog, yet? Good looking hair work, but I'm thinking the hook is going to keel. You tied it to be "upside-down" but I think it's going to "right" itself and ride hook down.

Nice packing and trimming on the hair, though.

Doug's Destroyer in electric chicken. Added tab eyes made from plastic hook packaging material and yellow angelina fibers. Also used hollow tied FTD pearl web flash behind the pink EP brush to ad bulk without weight.

I've tested it. It's tied on an Owner worm hook and there's lead in the belly.

Everybody is always picking on your frog. smile.png

Notice how I didn't say where I tested it this time.

Crackleback, if that frog is as much of a winner as it looks, I'll trade you something of my own creation for one or a few.

I call this "marsh madness"...oddly enough, I am not a basketball fan.

Tied a few traditional spiders ready for the start of the season. Waterhen bloas, snipe and purple and stewart spiders etc.

Slightly over hackled so as to last. these are for fishing.biggrin.png

I'm thinking about hosting a deer hair swap. I could save you a spot.
