Some very nice flies here already! Piker20 is correct that is in no way shape or form even close to an intruder, hehe sorry bugs me too, i see things named incorrectly i have to speak up :) great fly tho!

I dont think you offended anyone bud. They are just pointing out that you were tying a different style fly then an intruder. You certainly arent the first, I can promise you that.

 

Plus jam and piker..ive known them on here for a while they deff didnt mean anything bad by it. We are all on here to learn!

 

Nice fly, by the way. Maybe try tying the wing with a little less fiber. It'll swim better!

For the #24 I used Fly-Rite Extra Fine Poly, dubs really nice down even to #32

what material do you use for the longest fybers in the intruder

 

Being Canadian i enjoy using Heron for the hackle BUT i have found some sweet alternatives to that 1. Bird Fur, 2. Spey Hackle, 3. Rhea (either stacked forwards or backwards and brushed back or spun in a loop), and 4. Burnt Ostrich (same deal). Props are Polar Bear underfur. These things look whack dry but once they are in the water it makes sense.
