Greetings from Mid-Missouri

Recommended Posts

Just found this forum and have been trolling it for a few days. Have already picked up some good tips. I have been in and out of flytying over the years, but since I am now retired I hope to spend more time tying and fishing. I guess my home water would be the Current River in the Missouri Ozarks.

Best of luck in the new year to all.

Welcome. The Current is a beautiful place.

Thanks. Yes, it is. It's a couple hours to get there from Columbia, but it is worth the drive.

Welcome from a fellow Missourian (now transplanted to Michigan). Good to see so many folks from my home state on here! I didn't take up fly fishing until after I'd moved away, and I would really like to go back now and fish some of the trout and smallmouth rivers in the southern part of MO, including the Current. I did fish Bennet Springs once, which was fun, but kind of a circus.

Columbia is a great town - I have to make a pilgramage to Shakespeare's every time I'm home. :)

Spm ... when you get tired of Missouri ... come on down to Florida. I remember my family's first vacation together was in the Ozarks. We spent two weeks on a lake there (back in the 60's, so I don't remember what lake) and had a blast. Beautiful country, I do remember, and it seemed there was a lot of places to fish within a 2 hour drive ... are you sure you need to drive that far to a river?

Oh, and welcome to the site.

Only a "True Columbian" would know about Shakespeare's. I'll save you a slice, next time I'm there.
