curious as to where I can buy some quality dyed peacock quill, also looking for PMD color

If you are looking for stripped quill then search Polish Quills. They are widely available so someone will have them near you. Be warned they are expensive! If it is dyed eyes then Steve at Cookshill usually has a good range. Deer Creek also have them.

 

Alternatively get a marker pen in the colour you want, trap the quill on some card with the tip and pull. If you coat the bodies when tied then the colour is permanent.

 

Dying often involves chemicals that will make the quills brittle. As does bleaching to strip them, so I strip mine with an eraser on a wooden board, then colour them by batch. A couple of hours work will give you a good supply, and it is something you can do in front of the TV.

The Nature's Spirit product is full unstripped herls. The herl loses a lot in the dying process. It's useful and OK for what it is, but don't expect it to be as nice as natural herl.

I have been using natures sport bleached and dyed peacock herls and it works great for stripped bodies. The have a lot of great colors. Fairly easy to strip with an eraser. I highly recommend them
