Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 I've been retired for about 1 1/2 years. Had been a structural steel detailer (draftsman) all my life. Actually old enough to have worked on a drawing board with a pencil! (as opposed to a computer for the last 15 years.)
Bryon Anderson 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 Disability Examiner - State of Michigan. I read medical records of Social Security Disability applicants and determine whether or not they qualify for benefits. I guess I can also call myself a part-time freelance writer since I've published a few articles and plan on doing more. Before that I was (briefly, and regrettably) a long-haul truck driver, before that a high school English and Social Studies teacher (don't ask me how one goes from the latter to the former; I'm still trying to figure out what happened there myself.) All-time favorite jobs: garbage man (age 18--worked 3 hours a day, got paid for 8, got me in the best shape of my life and riding around clinging to the back of the truck was just fun), and GED/Life Skills teacher at a county correctional facility. Great thread, I'm curious to read more responses.
utyer 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 I have been retired almost 4 years. What ever I once knew about computer information systems is now obsolete. I was a ski technician for about 25 years, and after that I operated tackle repair center. Best job ever was a float guide on the Snake River, but that was 50 years ago. Still would rather be floating a river somewhere than working. I still "float" rivers here in Florida, but they never go anywhere.
