Piker20 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 I'm a charge nurse at a local hospital. Was in Coronary care then ITC but family move has me in a slightly sleepier hollow. Attached A&E means there is still some interesting stuff and you can see which fly patterns folk are using when they come to have them removed
mikechell 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 LOL Piker. I am a vocational level instructor. I teach motorcycle and marine technicians. Well, at the core program (campus), I teach mechanics to turn them into technicians. For the last dozen + years, I've been teaching dealership technicians and government personnel how to work specifically on Honda Outboard Products. I've been a carpet and tile installer, a tool and die apprentice, a cable TV technician, clerk at a 7/11 and 12 years as an aviation electronics specialist in the USMC. (not in that order) I haven't worked a day since I started my latest job ... teaching is just too much fun to be called work.
Stippled Popper 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 My last day of work work was Dec 29, 2006. Like Utyer I was in Information Systems at the time I retired and had been in that area since 1986. Before that I put in time in a variety of different social service programs. Those were my regular jobs. I also worked on the side directing chess tournaments. Stippled Poppers derives from the Pen and Ink drawing I was once big into.

I love making my own hours and I get to see some really nice homes, see how the other 1% live.
JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 Electronics Security Systems specialist for a large federal agency. I do all sorts of systems from the ground up, design, purchase, install, integrate, operate, maintain, and repair. Before that was an electronics technician under an Army contract at a huge range complex doing electronic targetry, optics, and other fun stuff. Before that was an Electronics Technician for 21 years in the Coast Guard, retired as a Chief with 3 consecutive Commands in my last 6 years which almost killed me at the end. Before that, I was just a kid.

Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 flytire - I still have the bruise on my jaw where it hit the floor when I saw the first version of our structural software. I immediately tossed my crumb bag, horsehair brush, erasing shield, and the rest of that stuff into the waste basket. Interesting to see what others do or have done for a living. Some of them are pretty surprising.
switch10 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 Minus a short stint as a hardware testing engineer at a tech company in Austin, TX (absolutely terrible), I've been working in the ski industry since I was 16 years old. I'm currently working as a terrain park snow cat operator. I get to build jumps and set rails in the coolest machine imaginable (google "park bully" or "piston bully"). Which has been my dream job since I can remember. I've also gotten to travel all over the world to build terrain parks at other ski resorts. One of the best parts of the job though is I work from midnight until 8:30am, leaving my days free to fish! The view from the office isn't too bad either.... tidewaterfly 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 Tractor trailer driver. Run the same route I've been running the last 14-15 years, twice a week. I'm gone 2 days at a time, home on the weekends! Unload 40,000 to 50,000 lbs a week with handcarts. I hate it, wearing me out, but it pays good!
