Hoppicator Swap

After moving last year, and helping the in-laws recover after a car accident, I finally have time to host a swap!

 

 

Swap is full!

 

This is a Hoppicator Swap. For those of you who don't know what that is it's a Hopper-indicator pattern. Instead of using bubble or yarn as indicator, we use a big, fat, bouyant Hopper pattern. It has three properties: great visibility, holds up heavy follower/dropper, and catches fish! One of my favorite (lake) combos is a yellow hopper with a black beadhead woolly bugger as dropper - nothing better to get the attention of those big fish. It's not unusual for the fish to rise at the hopper, then take the dropper on on the way back down.

 

So, any bouyant hopper pattern is acceptable, with or without the monofilament loops [i never use them myself, but hey, whatever floats your boat...er, hopper]. I like foam, but anything goes as long as it floats and won't get water-logged easily.

 

The dropper is NOT part of this swap. But feel free to tell us what your favorite dropper is.

 

Swap Rules:

1. 10 tyers besides myself, so tie 10 flies.

2. Tyers should have a swap or two under their belt. If not, PM me first.

3. Any bouyant Hoppicator pattern, probably #8 or larger.

4. Due Date: 14 June

5. International swappers welcome [postage negotiable]

6. Toe tag, include return postage and packaging.

7. Let me know when you ship them. (New) Address sent on request.

8. Plan to make 'regular' posts to keep us informed on your progress.
