bellevue.chartreuse.trout 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2014 I'm don't tie wet flies so much so please take my comments with a grain of salt. Are the hackle fibers sticking down, as a throat I believe, are they a bit long or not? However, this is a very fishable, workable fly that I would expect to catch many fish (if it's tied with robust technique and knots, good quality thread, etc...). Nice job. Refinement of technique comes with time tying. BCT

Mad Flyintist 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2014 Aye I saw the downward facing throat hackle on a few posts here and some classic tying sites liked the look of it so i have been trying that lately. May be a bit long.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2014 So long as your throat doesn't over power the wing and flip your fly over your fine. The long trailing fibres are meant to be shrimp prawn type mimicking I think.
