agn54 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2015 Being messing with some crabs lately.Great looking crabs I have never tied these, what do you catch with them?Nice shape on the baitfish. The green one is a variant of a tarpon fly but I tie it smaller for reds and trout. The brown I throw at reds but may work on bones, permit, etc. although I would probably do them in lighter colors like tan for those
agn54 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 An attempt at a blue crab. It originally had 3 pairs of legs but the ones at the very front were laying goofy and I couldn't get them straight so I just ripped them out. I'm hoping the redfish I chuck it at aren't mathematicians
Saltybum 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2015 I like the blue grizz for the claws. I have a blue neck I haven't done much with and now know where to use some. Now if I can just find where the reds are.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2015 Catching up on these flies a little late. Two things, what is the eyelash yarn stuff being spoken of? The crabs looked very good using it. Second the sea run browns are loving these at the moment. Next 8 weeks sees peak of salt water trout for me before they hit fresh water to spawn. Pic should be other way up. Blue on top.
