These patterns are variations of Captain Bob Le May's Swamp Rabbit, tied with Fox fur. So the Swamp Fox. The last two are the same fly dry and wet.

I like the body on the light swamp fox. Did you just do 2 clumps of fox on top and bottom? Also, where do you buy your fox?

Flats, The collar is wrapped with a strip of fox fur. The tail is a separate similar strip of fox. ALL my fox fur comes from various yard sales.

Questions for you. Are you still hunting your first Tarpon on the Fly. Do you have any favorite patterns for Peacock Bass or does it really matter?

I have quite a bit of the lighter fur, if you want some PM me. This is UNCUT fur, you have to make your own strips.

I'm picturing myself tossing this around the mangroves and grass flats... So I'll post it in the saltwater bench.

That bug will work almost anywhere I fish... What size hook it's on will determine the species (and the size of the biters...). Fish in the 'glades are pretty hungry most days.

Utyer - Matter of fact, I am not! Have caught several in the glades, all around 5 lbs, but still plenty of fun. Looking forward to trying for some bigger fish this year... For peacocks, you can't beat a clouser. Size 4-1/0, bright colors, and heavy are the ticket. Bright colors seem to attract them the most.

IF you are so kind as to send me some fox, I would indeed greatly appreciate it. However, of course, I will provide funding for the shipping!

Thank you Capt Bob and Fshng2 it's quite a compliment from other tyers.

I've been tying up some bluefish flys for the spring.

Blues come on the heels of the mackerel so here's one.
