Paul Schell 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2014 Saltybum That would be great. Of late I have been tying some older standard flies, FLATWING patterns used mostly for northeast striper fishing. Trying to use color combos that represent the local baitfish. If and when I can figure out how to post pictures I will. Thanx for listening. Saltybum 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2014 Didn't see any black drum but this little red liked the middle fly from above photo of the three dark ones. Saw a lot big trout after I left the dock to wade but none wanted anything I had to offer. Of course the wind had to pick up making my accuracy suffer and make me hit half of them on the head. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer maybe I try again.

Capt Bob LeMay 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2014 Here's a few of my favorites (back when I still chased bones...). I'd do them up in several sizes per pattern (mostly #4 and #6...)
Saltybum 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2014 Still stocking up for seatrout on the flats. The slider is all deer except for the yellow which is artic fox. The brown and white one is all St. Bernard except the pink.

Saltybum 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2015 During the winter months here in the Space Coast area I usually see a lot of big sea trout on the shallow flats. However this winter I have been seeing way more redfish. Even though they'll readily hit a baitfish fly I decided to tie up a few dark crabby things. In an effort to keep the hook point up in grassy areas I tied in a piece of mono to keep it upright. Shown in close up shot. The little red ate the top left one. utyer 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2015 I like that idea, I will try it in some of my next crab flies. Here are a couple I finished this week.
