trez 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2015 My January’s flies are on their way.  I have wanted to tie the “Utah Killer Bug” for a while now but had a hard time finding the correct yarn to tie it with. Did some research and found that the Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift yarn was supposed to be the closest substitute for the original yarn used, (that is no longer available). I’ve had it on order for a while and it just showed up. I also have pink wire on order but it didn’t get here on time so these are tied with red since it is the closet I had on hand. I’ve heard a lot about this fly being simple but very effective. Tied with wire and yard, it’s a two material fly unless you count the hook and glue… Anyway, new for me.  Thanks again for hosting!
