Help Identify this dubbing material please

Recommended Posts

Hey Gang

I stumbled upon this fly and really like the color of the dubbing that was used for the body. I know the pink part just can't find anything on the crazy flash colors. I tried searching online and couldn't find much. I like the crazy flash and colors all mixed in any help would be greatly appreciated!

Eric appears to be correct. I Googled "Rainbow nymph dubbing mix" and found an

article from another web site which says the dubbing is a mix of either Prism or Ice

dubbing in the following colors UV Red, Caddis Green, and Electric Blue.

You could probably duplicate it by putting an assortment into your coffee grinder and make your own.

Does not look like Prism nor Ice Dub, at least for the example shown, because the dubbing appears to be mylar. I suspect either Flashabou Dubbing in Rainbow and Fluorescent Pink, or Lite Brite Dubbing in the same. You should be able to get the same effect but cutting up some Angel Hair in the same colors as well. Prism or Ice Dub would probably work in a pinch, but if you can find the premixed stuff, it would be a bit easier to tie.
