flytire 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 I just got the latest feather craft, jstockard and the fly shop paper catalogs I know theyre all available online but little difficult to bring the desktop computer into the "library" for a little sit down reading and too small to read on a smart phone without going blind! do you prefer paper or electronics? which ones do you like/get? :)

mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 Gotta be paper. Nothing quite like sitting on that special seat in the "library" ... knowing no one will bother you for a while ... dreaming of your latest wish list. That said, I rarely buy out of a catalog. It's reading material. Shopping I do online.

NickJ 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 I like paper as well. I still go to the websites, but catalogs like Feather Craft's are way easier to browse. I buy from their website but their catalog got me there.
fishingbobnelson 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 Anglers Workshop is another good paper catalog. I like paper ones, I always find stuff that I might not have located in the online ones. They are also nice to leave open around the house at Christmas, Father's Day and my birthday as a hint.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 i have a laptop with wifi. it works in EVERY room of the house. You must be careful, though. Some gaseous emissions in the "Library" can cause immediate and irreparable damage to electronic devices ... or so I've heard.
Kirk Dietrich 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 Paper catalogs with a stack of Post-It pads sitting on the thrown has seen a lot of my dollars go by. Although, some sites like Orvis allow your items to stay in the basket for 30 days and I do like the "wish" lists on Amazon and Ebay to keep track of something I just have to have one day even though I may go to a paper catalog or online fly shop to order. Paper for sure though. That is a good question Norm.
wschmitt3 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 I like to sort of window shop on with the paper catalog but when I am really interested in a particular product I investigate it online then try to check it out in person if it is available in one of the very few (and poorly stocked) fly shops I occasionally visit. CSB1 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2015 Salm, I was just going to mention the old Herter's catalog from back in the early 60's. I spent many a hour looking thru that, for those Special Materials.
