John Q:

I don't know how they can get better but they seem pretty friggin awesome to me!

Red: pretty good job, I think your wrapping on the bodies could be cleaner, and the Bait fish is a bit heavy with materials. Other than that, I think you will see a nice progression to cleaner looking flies as you develop your skills. We all start somewhere.

Awesome Deer hair work! Those flies look so good you almost don't want to fish them. :)

Tied up some parachute adams today this one is size 16, tied up 4 of these, also tied up 4 size 18. It took 3 hours to tie these 8 flies because I had at least one hackle break on each fly. So frustrated but they all came out ok.

Although the Grayling season ended last Saturday here I have an order for some grayling flies, mostly standard stuff, but these two may be of interest.

Duo_0001_zpsnw4udkyc.jpg

A pair for the "Duo Method" (Klink and Dink)

The nymph is standard enough though unusual in colour.

Hook: Hyabusa All Purpose Light, size 18, straight eye.

Thread: Vevus 14/0 Yellow (Not that it matters)

Back & Tail: Dyed red pheasant tail.

Thorax (front): spot of hot pink Ice Dub (I don't get why you guys have problems with this stuff, its really easy to "dub". May be more difficult if you are trying to stick it to the thread) and a 2 mm pink tungsten bead.

Rib: 0.09 mm Gold wire.

Abdomen: Blue / red macaw tail.

Rear of thorax: Another spot of the hot pink Ice Dub.

The dry to suspend it below is a twist on the Balloon Caddis.

Hook: Fulling Mill All Purpose Light size 14.

Head: Closed cell foam (Plastazote - craft foam is too dense).

Hackle: Undersized grizzle.

Body: Mink rusty stone mixed with copper holographic dubbing enhancer.

Wing: Snowshoe bunny paw dyed blue dun.

Cheers,

C.

Man. That is just so awesome. I'm off to the shop today so I can get the materials to try it.

Thanks for the compliments on the hair bugs. Even old people appreciate them. Three pictures of one bug might be overdoing it but these things are three dimensional and I couldn't decide which one to post. Cohen's Creature legs add to the fun of doing these frogs.
