add147 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2015 I got mine yesterday...I have to admit the fly I tied looks like crap compared to everyone else's. Those small hooks are a devil to tie. Thanks everyone for a bunch of great looking flies.

vicrider 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2015 Yep, got mine. Will get my magnifier out and take a look at them. I know one thing from my last trips with a guide. If he wants me using anything smaller than a 16 he gets to put it on the hook. If I ever can get a trip in to trout country again I'm going to tie up some with 5x and 6x leaders before hand under the glass and have them ready to splice into the rod's leader. Thanks all for the great efforts put forth. One thing about swaps. In the last couple of years I've improved a lot but have a long way to go. I have been tying flies all the way down to 26 and in a swap right now on a different tying 26 mayflies with wings. I've also completed a swap on this board and a different board with triple articulated Hog Snares, and am now working my way thru Classic Streamers. I just sent off a bunch of crabby looking things done with velcro, rubber bands, wire with beads on for eyes, If you get in the swaps you're going to improve and have fun with a lot of different materials. Dorado 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2015 I can't agree more vicrider! Participating in swaps helps me to discover new patterns, materials, and techniques. A triple articulated Hog Snare is WAY over my head though. Maybe I can tackle that one 30 swaps from now. Very impressive lot of tiny flies all. Thanks for hosting jfinn!
