mikechell 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2015 Not bad, 15. They look a little "looser" than what I'm use to seeing posted here ... but they're closer to what I tie. Even though I'd like to get really dense packs, I usually don't. As far as the fishing goes ... I think the sound of the water "through" the hair, rather than "around" it (as with dense packs) produces a unique sound. Since I've caught plenty with the looser pack, I think you'll catch lots of fish on those, too.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2015 Looser packed hair sits lower in the water too and I believe this definitely makes a difference for the fish over a fly right up on the top. Good to carry both.
wschmitt3 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2015 Been tying some big streamers.
Morrowboarder 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2015 Those will have nice action in still waters.
wschmitt3 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2015 The articulated streamers have insane action in any water. The green, white and pink fly is my take on a Gallop's T&A and it looks awesome in the water. The Black one is a rabbit strip fly and got me the rainbow trout is the fish pictures thread.
