dryfly purist 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2015 This stonefly was really busy as it came dancing across the stream in really high speed with the wings going like drumsticks :-) :-) Trying to photograph it with a 300mm lens was really hard but it became quite cool despite the heavy hand held lens and the rapid movement of the stonefly :-) :-) Terje
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2015 Perfect lesson in surface tension. Would that all our flies could do that! Beautiful Terje!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 Is it just the freeze frame photo, or is that fly using it's rear wings as rudders and it's front wings for propulsion? Once again, Terje, you find ways to amaze with your photography. I know I can't convince you to NOT take pictures of buildings and other "artificial landscapes". But I will say that your natural world photography is some of the best I've ever seen.

kentuckytroutbum 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 Terje- Great photo. I know it was difficult to capture, but persistence can really pay off in photography. Thanks for posting. Bill
