vicrider 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2015 Someone's gotta start it... This is my July Monthly Swap fly incorporating Red/ White and Blue... And this is my first attempt EVER at spinning a deer hair mouse. My first spinning was in a swap last month with a Muddler

add147 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2015 Here's my first cork popper. I used a mono-loop for the zonker strip to prevent fouling. Not perfect but not to bad for a first timer!!!

mikechell 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Looks good, sitting there. I think it will turn over when it's actually in the water, though.
notenuftoys 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Got an itch to do some classic wet flies, so I tied up this Blae and Black on a size 14. The tinsel is a little large for this hook, but other wise I thought it looked good.
Chuck McFarlane 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Here's something I came up with that for lack of a better name I call the articulated feather duster. I plan to use this on SMB and LMB. I was in the equivalent of the dollar store over here in Japan and noticed these huge feather dusters on sale. Upon close inspection I found loads of useable feathers and decided to get one. The pattern itself is nothing new and I was mostly inspired by Lefty's deceiver pattern for most of the fly and basically just used clumps of feathers to form the tail and over wing. The under wing is tan artic fox tail. The body is a combination of grizzly spey hackle and olive brown palmer chenille twisted together and wrapped up the shank. I added some natural herl and spun a tri colored deer hair head. The eyes are a solid doll type pin variety available from craft stores and the legs barred round medium. We'll see how it fishes and if it doesn't produce I can always use it to dust up around the bench.
Fisherboy0301 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Looks good, sitting there. I think it will turn over when it's actually in the water, though. It has lead strips under the dubbing body on top of the shank to turn it over and give the body it's tapered look. Plus the synthetic back and mouth and the natural mouthparts are pretty buoyant. Fisherboy0301 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Wow Chuck!!! That's really great! I reckon that'd work well for pike or musky too! The big bass should gobble it up and it's really tied nicely! Great job!
