Fly Tying Rewards

Recommended Posts

We’ve all been tying so much how about showing some of the rewards for tying all those flies.

These are some of mine from this season.
I’ve been turning into a bass fisherman lately.

A Tiger (May), Brown (May), another Brown (May), and a Brookie (July).

Note the net Will?! Mine does not have as long a handle as yours did.

Nice LM and SM Kimo. Hope some LM are in my future if the RAIN EVER STOPS and the lake goes DOWN!

I got this nice rainbow on a yellow stimulator I tied last week. If it doesn't look all that big, it's because I'm 6' 4". ;)

After a good spring the grass started filling in so I tied some deer hair sliders to slide over the grass. Results have been good to include a 28" sea trout, my best ever on any tackle. She was barely hooked and made for an easy release. The one with the fly way down it's mouth came home for dinner.

How about you guys also showing the flies that caught those fish.

Nice bass Kimo. What did they eat?

Baby Perch, Leech and Articulated Aggravators.

Nice sliders. Would love to fish for sea trout.

BCT, those browns are beautiful!

Thanks KIMO - brightness and contrast was adjusted on all the pictures - but these 'adjusted' pics of the Browns are how vivid I remember them when I got them to net.

Somehow looking at the pictures taken when I got them downloaded to the computer here at home - they always seem a little 'washed out' and the brightness and contrast adjustment always seems to boost the colors - but not overly unnaturally. I try to stop tweaking when the adjustments produce what I remember how they looked on the stream.

The flies used to catch the Browns and Tiger were either the extended foam body March Brown I had on another thread earlier this year in FTF (Evolving March Brown Extended Body 2014 vs. 2015) or a yellow and brown bodied spinner I tied on location - trying to imitate the March Brown spinner I had morph overnight in the house I stayed in.

What notenuftoys said, +1. I've got a box full of flies, my old fly rod with new backing/line/tippet, and a brand new Ocean Prowler 13' 4" kayak.......and it is too hot to breathe outside! I WANT TO GET ON THE LAKE!

C'mon, let's be honest. If you were to adjust them to how they looked to you on the stream you'd have to sttrrettchh your screen just to get them to fit.

The colors you have them now are great though. I really like the tiger trout. I believe I caught some in WI but never knew what they were at the time. Just thought they were a weird colored brookie or something.

lol.... They were decent fish, although they were 'planted' so.......(not to take away from them but... they were not hatched and grown up where I caught them). As I said, I did adjust just the contrast and brightness.

Had caught a tiger two years before that one so I thought it looked sort of like one.
