Can I see your surface bugs please?

Recommended Posts

Ladies and gents,

Would love to see some pics of your attempts at surface ties.

Probably ranging in size from your 'large' bluegill ties, bass ties, and anything you might use in the estuary.

Many thanks.

Most of my pictures are on my personal computer, 3000 miles away at home.

So here's the pictures I have on this computer.

Thanks mate.

That's what I'm looking for... I've seen the standard poppers and crease flies etc..., so anything with a bit of creativity and thought is bang on the money.

Here's the Confederate General. Originated by Carl Hanson and Lane Smith (both members of the Tampa Bay Fly Tying club). I've posted it before on here.

My take on the Sponge Bob Square Head. At eight inches in length it might be a tad too big for panfish, however it does work very well for pike.

I've never caught a bass on fly, or any freshwater fish on fly for that matter, but pretty sure these would work

This is heavily foamed underneath and the the down bent eye gets it to skip a bit on twitches.

This is a friend's design and will do the opposite. Dive and wiggle on retrieve.

A greased Muddler is always a good surface option

Tide water did you tie all of those?

If so well done sir. Those foam hoppers, bombers and mice are sick!

Loving this thread. I need to find some time and ask for instructions.

I just want to ask Tide water when do you get a chance to fish around your fly tying. That is some beautiful work particularly the deer hair flies.
