Superflash Pheasant Tail (variation)

Variation on standard pattern (subbed pearl Krystal Flash for Ice Dub abdomen), which looks a lot like Kelly Glissmeyer's South Fork Special.

 

hook - Dai Riki 135 #12

thread - Danville 6/0 brown

tail/shellback/wingcase/legs - pheasant tail

rib - x-fine wire copper

abdomen - Krystal Flash UV Pearl

thorax - Arizona Synthetic Dubbing peacock

bead - 7/64" gold

"Gandalf" articulated streamer - messing with Hareline's new "Slow Rolla Tails" this way pretty fun. Named it Gandalf for obvious reasons.

"Fire Bream" - size 2/0 Partridge Predator X. Very bulky looking but very lightweight with a ton of movement. I bet the bass will slay this.

Myself... I still have crabs on the brain.. a couple of colour variations tonight... some with eyes.. some without.... destined for use this weekend.

I've been tying a good bit while recouping from surgery. Here is some of the produce.

Wasps need water to make their nests. I've seen them land on the surface of ponds, and I've seen bream slap at them. I figured "What the hey, I'll try it." I'm going to treat the fly with a water repellant before I fish it.
