I remember as a kid back in the fifties being in Midland, MI. (home of Dow Chemical) and seeing how badly polluted the river was going through town. Today its been cleaned up and now supports one of the best Walleye fisheries in the state. Pretty amazing if you could have seen how bad it was back then.

I agree with Hairwing, The more important statement is that the river which was dead is coming about because someone finally did something. Bravo!! I'm sure each one of us have felt the grip of pollution and man's destructive tendencies. I know personally I will never eat a fresh water fish caught on Long Island, and I can honestly say there are parts of the island I wont eat Salt water fish from either.

 

On Another point: it may seem shameful what that guy did that to the rod and reel, however, It is his to do what he wants to. For all we know he brought that outfit home and cleaned it. or he threw it in the garage next to fertilizer. who cares? That was a nice fish.
