Crackaig 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2015 The subject of head size and bunching at the eye have come up a couple of times in recent posts. My friend Marc has put Hans' tutorial on reverse hackling on his sight. I thought it might be a timely reminder of a technique that produces the smallest heads and stops bunching at the eye. Cheers, C.

Bugsy 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2015 I came across this technique by way of experimentation somewhere in the 90s. It proved to be the most practical of several methods I played around with. The only thing that kept me from staying with it as a consistent method was "tradition."
Mike West 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2015 Thought everyone did it this way... I was taught this from day one in the late 70's. Only difference is I strip a few barbs off one side of the feather and tie it in at an angle.
