RexW 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2015 I think I'll tie something colorful and fun for this swap. Something along the lines of a variation of Dale's Psychedelic Spider:
vicrider 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2015 I'm sorry I didn't do this one but have a lot on my plate as is. I'm up to 18 on the skill builder swap and still don't have a dozen I'm ready to send in. Any of them in there I'd fish with but looking to try to have better matching ties before they go. I'm giving up after 6 more and just picking 12 best and quitting messing around. Anyway, this swap as much as any on the board SCREAMS for pictures when they're in. If I was doing them I think I'd picture them on a nice fedora styled fishing hat. Man that would be great.

Fisherboy0301 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2015 Just an observation. If you don't want the safety pin to be as obvious, can you tie the fly "sideways" to the pin? So would look more like ... sideways.jpg If you have a rotary vice and can turn it sideways then yes. But seeing as how the bend of the pin is similar to that of a hook, I'd imagine it's the same. I hope they meet everyones approval I ended up tying a full featherwing streamer that I like to use for trout in my home river it is a simple tie but very effective. Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2015 I need a address, they will be finished tommorrow or the next day! Want to put them in the post monday, they could need 2 or 3 weeks from here? Thankyou!
Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2015 Flies are in the post, very small articulated pike flies with a hook! Should have been ready earlier, but i picked a time consuming fly & fishing kept on getting in the way of tying! But i did have fun with these flies! Thanks netabrookie! netabrookie 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2015 RexW, your safety pins were waiting for me in the mailbox this evening. They look great. I will update the first page in a day or two when I can get on a computer. This so-called "smart" phone makes smoke come out my ears and my blood pressure hits about 3000 psi when I try to do anything other than type a simple post. Thanks, Tony
