retrocarp 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2015 Pink for the local ozzie tarpon Li'l Dave Not surface flies then ?
Li'lDave 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2015 Not this time mate. Most of the time we will fish for them using intermediate lines, or at the very least with a little weight. And at the moment they are hanging deep in the remaining billabongs, staying out of the heat and waiting for the first major rains of the year, so we need to get the flies down. Surface flies are a real option though, especially once there is a bit of flow in the water. Gurglers, cicada patterns, little poppers / grass hoppers... all can be an absolute hoot with these little fellas! (I absolutely love it when you get into a good surface bite on these guys!). And we aren't real sure about why, but for some reason the little tarpon around here get turned on something fierce by pink.

johnnyquahog 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2015 Frog slider Mega Cool! Only complaint I have is since I particularly admire hair stacking; I wish it was a custom that the size hook or dimension be mentioned. Thanks!
