My version of the Gartside sparrow in a size 12

Nice one Retro. I like the way you got the hackle to extend to the tail or a little longer. You can run the after shaft feather completely to the eye if you dare it's pretty fragile stuff to work with. Please let me know how you get on with it in Oz. I'm confident It'll be a good compliment to your other patterns.

Yeah no worries chuck i'll let you know how it goes......... when I actually get out to do a bit of fishing lol

Home bathroom renovation has been taking up a fair bit of my spare fishing time.

Fortunately that's what I do for a crust (Building and renovating) so it's no hassle.

That orangeish stuff right on top of the cork is EP fiber?? I've never used it... I saw a fly tied with cigarette filter that kinda looked like it. Much finer than deer hair.

Hey Joe , those spoon flies are pretty neat what sizes do you tie those in ...and can they be used on multiple species i.e trout and bass etc or are they primarily for saltwater fishing.

Would you you use an 8wt to cast them or could you use a smaller one like 5/6 wt

no. The orange is a ice or cactus chenille, the ep fiber is the tan body up front, I love ep fiber you can tie larger patterns and the shed water like crazy so easy to cast I will upload a couple ep baitfish I just finished tying.
