eastern fly 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2015 I got a new desk that doesn't have a lip suitable for a C camp. I need a way to mount my light and a vice I want to buy. Does anyone have an idea and/or a picture? Kevin

Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2015 Screw a new top on the desk Bigger then the desk so you will have a lip?
eastern fly 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2015 Screw a new top on the desk Bigger then the desk so you will have a lip? I guess I could do that. I have a piece of glass on the top right now. That would bring the vice head down a little. I know there is some debate on the vice head height. I like the idea of my dubbing spinner hanging unobstructed. FlaFly 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2015 Sorry for the crummy pic, but here's my solution. I have two vises here. In both of them, the hole for the vise shank goes all the way through, so I just turned them upside down, leaving only a small section of jaw below. The cutting board has some stick on feet that I stuck on the corners, lifting the board just high enough to provide room for the jaws below.
Fishiowa 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2015 You could just take a small piece of 1x of whatever wood you like and screw it on the underside of the desk in the knee hole opening. Have it protrude a couple inches and clamp your vise to that.
Foxy 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2015 i will go to home depot, cut a wood board, have some paint finish then put my vise in it
