Gene L 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2016 Welcome back. I'd make the head smaller and lose the tail and maybe palmer dry fly hackle around the body to help it float. Just suggestions, because I don't think it will float that well without some support.
utyer 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2016 It looks like your trimming the back of the wing, they will look better if you use the tips of the hair and size the wing rather than cut it off. There are no tails on caddis adults. Shucks yes, but tails are not present on the naturals, and not usually used.
josephcsylvia 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2016 I like the second one much better, yes they are usually tied without tails and yes they usually have hackle but I'd still fish them, the thing about doing things different is if your fishing a heavily fished area and everybody is throwing a ehc, fish might eat your just because its different!
