mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2016 As fishinguy says 0.13g most likely. This plastic cap is almost one full gram.
Bruce Norikane 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2016 Weight= 13 grams probably milligrams. I just weighed 10 TMC 3769 size 18's - all 10 combined weighed .130 gm, so 1 would be 13 milligrams. The 3769 is a 2X heavy but normal length nymph hook.
Bruce Norikane 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2016 ... Or long skinny nymphs, I suppose. Anyone got any suggestions? You can tie most nymph patterns on this hook. Your pattern won't look long and skinny. Just tie it proportional to the shank. The only thing out of proportion will be the hook gap, so avoid patterns that are fat near the gap. That hook shank is 4xl, so the same length as #14 standard hook. Many nymph patterns are tied on 2XL hooks, so this isn't that out of whack. You may have trouble getting a large bead around that gap, but the long shank will accommodate two smaller beads or bead with lead wraps.
rstaight 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 Put a slight bend in the shank and they may do well for a small Chernobyl Ant. With it being a streamer hook it may set lower it to the surface film, but sometimes that seams to work for me.
