deerhairdan 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 Might as well start the new topic. Lund's transparent baitfish tied on #2 barbless stingers from Partridge Tiny crawfish on a #4 using pine squirrel and CDL Soft hackles. Buddy at work gave me the tail off a pesty animal he shot....coyote...pretty exited to use this thing.

mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 Is there an eye to put tippet material through, Cheech? I only ask because I would find it IMPOSSIBLE TO TIE ON !!! Nice fly, just unusable in my world.
FLdk 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 Those mice are almost too cute to throw at pikes.
Philly 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 You mean you can't see the eye on that there hook, Mike? When I was younger and could see I tied some midges on the Tiemco size 32 and the only two fish I ever caught on them were sunfish. I had to use an 11X tippet to tie them on. FlaFly 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 That's really sad... you went to all that trouble tying a fly nobody can see, and all they caught was something you could have caught on a size 10 popper.

You can thread 6x through this fly (size 30) You just have to snip it at an angle to make it easier. I also have 20/15 vision, so that helps.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2016 Okay ... here's MY size fly. This is the scud that made me the chub master last weekend. Tied on a size 8 Mustad 3408B. I got 100 of them for $2.00 at the fishing show on Friday.
