Hi Noten Great fly and great first attempt. Proportions look good. you will get comments about the hackle but I would fish that in a flash and it will catch!!! Its very simple. #6 SL45 or equivalent Pheasant Rump for the tail pheasant tail wrapped about 1/2 up the shank with wire rib peacock ice dub or equivalent (spirit river here) palmered pheasant rump more dubbing over the eyes. I use large beadchain and some lead wire as well. That is because the river is sorta fast here where the carp are. Gotta get them down, and quickly.
