Fish For Life 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2016 Fish For Life that black one at the bottom looks wicked cool. Mind sharing a recipe? Thanks! Its one of my favorites so far. Im hoping that it will be a good producer. It was a very simple tye. Black big fly fiber on the bottom, several stands of krinkle around that, than i lay down the long black feathers (sorry dont know the name of them) as many as i could evenly fit around the body, than tyed in clumps of black ostrich all around, finished with the plastic head. The springy bulk of the big fly fiber supports the long feathers and ostrich to give it a very nice fishy look.

Never tied a black fly, but they just looks cool. If it's not to much i would love a recipe for the black and red one also.

Tye in a long bunch of bucktail as the tail (or any other suitable tail material), then just start tying in bunches of bukctail forward. Bunch of black on top, bunch on black on the bottom. Move forward, bunch of red on top, bunch of red on bottom. Just keep going back and forth to the eye alternating colors. Simple and in the end you have a nice big fly with lots of movement in the water. It may look big but once t gets in the water everything lays down nicely giving it a better shape and movement. ChromeAddict 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2016 I've been doing carp flies lately. Here are my two favorites. If anyone wants the pattern let me know (not sure if this is already a pattern or not). Fly 1: Fly 2; I also just finished a box full of carp flies. I'll see if I can get pictures tomorrow. FlaFly 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2016 Nice fly. I didn't know they had bananas in Sweden. BTW do you ever use reindeer hair to tie with up there?

I think there are some caddis patterns with reindeer hair. You can buy it most places, but i haven´t used it myself.
