conehead 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 Sandflyx, Man you pack a lot of tying into a tight space. I think I might get a little claustrophobic with those cabinet walls closing in on me. But then again I wouldn't hear the wife screaming at me, "Are you still tying flies?" That's how I like it, evreything in an arm's reach. That really speeds up production. Wow those are some large storage cabinets, are they full of fur, feathers, and foam? How about o pic of the inside, I would like to see how you have it organized. A close up picture of your tying and staging are would be good as well. I am always trying to steal, I mean borrow new ideas. Conehead.

lewy271 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Someone here had a beautiful desk, they made themselves. I would love to have something like that. Mine is alway a mess I cannot keep anything straight. And I've decided it is a mess because I cannot seem to find a way to keep my materials easily accessible but still stored away. Seriously I've been looking for my Rootbeer Estaz that I bought used once and am still looking for to tie up some estaz worms... Everytime I get a handle on it...it all explodes again. Maybe I will take a class in Chaos Theory and just be able to work in control chaos.
Aerie 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Well, Heck - I'd be happy to build or design you one... I've done finish carpentry, cabinets, and guitars for quite a while now - I'd be happy to help you design, or whatever you need! Eben
conehead 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Sandflyx, NICE..... You are an addict........ Loooks like you could tie for for years if you had an endless supply of thread. Looks like you got more stuff than my fly shop. Thanks for the pics. Conehead
Aerie 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 I dunno, Cone - I kinda like yours, too - Now to figure out where I could get away with that... Convert the home office? Take space out of the guitar workshop? Send the 14 yr old away to school? Eben
sandflyx 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 conehead.. I have one rack for threads that holds over 100 spools above and to the right of the tying area. then I have 4 to 6 boxes of thread somewhere. I've been tying since the 60's and it just keeps adding up..what do you need for your shop..
