McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2016 In the late spring and early summer, terrestrial fishing can be phenomenal. The wind will blow ants, grasshoppers and beetles into the water, and the fish start looking for these tasty snacks. Ants make up one of the most common terrestrials found in the trouts diet. So fishing one of these simple ant patterns at the right time, can yield amazing results. Hook: Umpqua U001 size 22. Any dry fly hook will do, sizes 16-26 Dubbing: Super Dry Dubbing Hackle: Top of a black neck cape where the small and fine feathers are.

Shmang 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2016 Good stuff! Really enjoyed the Ant video. Do you think soft hackle hackle would work? Thanks
McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2016 Good stuff! Really enjoyed the Ant video. Do you think soft hackle hackle would work? Thanks Anything that will keep the fly afloat... If the soft hackle does, then yes. However I have yet to find soft hackle with that short of fibers...
McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2016 Still waiting for that tarpon toad Kidding can't wait for the next saltwater fly video!!! Like I said, the materials are too expensive right now for that fly. Soon I'll make it, just give me a few months.

"video's" is a typo on the home page. Otherwise, congrats on your successes thus far. Looks great.
epzamora 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2016 VERY easy to navigate, particularly from the home page. from the ant pattern page, not so obvious to find saltwater/freshwater/other video links. the "Home/Videos" link at the top is quite small in relation to all other elements on that page. the links to "Other Video Tutorials" at the bottom helps but again, you have to scroll to the bottom. really nice modern design overall. i like it. eric fresno, ca. "video's" is a typo on the home page. Otherwise, congrats on your successes thus far. Looks great. Thank you! I will change that typo. I just wanted a place I could categorize my videos better then what YouTube offers. Thanks again!

McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2016 Nice website overall. Planning on tying a crackle back soon? Um... I don't really use them where Im at... I can if you really want to see a tutorial? I just find that they are so close to griffith's gnat, and I already have one of those for a tutorial. I am trying to make many different types of flies for different techniques before I start doing ones so close, you know? But if you want to see it, I can do a tutorial on the fly.
