Although rarely seen, this is a close approximation to a Wooly Bugger when it hatches. Change color/size to suit your needs. Wierd that I found this on a UK site; didn't think they were in to foam stuff (must be a post-Brexit thing).

hook - Dai Riki 280. #6

thread - Uni 6/0 camel

tail - marabou brown

rib - Krystal Flash pearl

body - Haretron dubbing chocolate brown

wing/head - 2mm foam brown

legs - medium rubber cornsnake

indicator - 2mm foam orange

mash barb, start thread, tie in rib, wrap to point above point

measure (shank length) a clump of marabou; tie in/trim butts, cover with thread

Turns out this is a creation of Clark "Cheech" Pierce (originally called the Foam Dragon), which makes a lot more sense. Thanks, again, Cheech for another cool fly.
