Bruce Norikane 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2016 We have a Arkanglers in Pueblo...Katt sold it out to??? Man do i suck with names. But since Katt's ole man owns the mall it is in i guess she still has some ownership. I know she was helping him on Saturdays. The Spirit river stuff just never flared right for the effect i am looking for. You would have to see some of Terje's flies to understand. Sorry his screen name is Dryfly purist. I've used Spirit River and Trout Hunter CDC. Trout Hunter generally has more high quality feathers, but for real tough patterns, you have to sort through and find exactly the right feather. Some people swear by Marc Pettijean CDC, but I've never used it. Dyed CDC can be really crappy, so try natural, undyed feathers from any brand. I have a big box of black dyed CDC from Montana Fly Company that is almost unusable. Here's a CDC supplier thread from the forum.
cheech 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2016 Polish CDC trumps all. I just got some packs of it, and the quality and length are insane....
DrVette 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 My problem is that win 10 won't recognize most cameras. Any suggestions on finding a camera that will meet my needs for going small but doesn't cost more than about $50??? I am looking. Have you tried a card reader? You don't have to connect the camera to the computer to get the photo's.Just remove the memory card and use a card reader to download the photo's.I have Win10 and and have downloaded photo's from several different cards.Have not seen one yet that Win10 will not recognize. THANK-YOU VERY MUCH MUCH FOR THAT! It turns out that i can insert 2 different types of cards right into my computer and by-pass the camera's software. I still need a new camera though...mine is 1.3 Mega pixels...No wonder everything is blurry. Hey, i never claimed to know much about computers...Just enough to get into deep sh.... DrVette 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2016 To anyone who listened to this thread and can get to the lower Pueblo section of the Arkansas...The Caddis are starting...My best guess in next Monday - Thursday afternoons. Follow the warmer periods after the cool downs...I have seen it last (marginally) till after the first heavy snow. Like i said, i want to hear some-one got a great day from what i tried to share. I hope they don't kill it.
DrVette 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2016 Those who think me crazy...??? Well i am but it doesn't mean i am not right. They just lowered the river below the dam...The next 2 weeks are your best time to see. This week you will have to stay late, after dusk till you can't see. The moon makes them feed more at night. Next week there should be 4-6 days that will freak you out if you make some of these stupidly simple flies. Have fun...PLEASE come back and tell me how it went...i would love to hear that others enjoyed this.
