Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 Just got back from 3 days fishing the Au Sable with a good fishing buddy. While he didn't have much luck I made up for it with quite a varied amount of species with some browns, rainbows, smallmouth, walleye and redhorse. We always have a good time fishing together and with his health issues this year it was the first trip together since last fall so it was a great time with a good friend on my favorite river in the world. Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 That carp looks like it would give a good scrap That's actually a river redhorse sucker. It's just so big it looks like a carp. It's over the Michigan Master Angler requirement length, but I'm not gonna submit it....don't want a Master Angler patch for a sucker LOL What did you catch that walleye on? Just a simple streamer I tie. It's about 2" long with green EP fiber on top and then white EP fiber bottom with a little flash mixed in and a black marker eye dot. Catch a decent number of walleye on that streamer on the Au Sable.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 As much as I hate the winters of the North ... it would almost be worth it to fish that river this time of year ... almost. Beautiful water and fish. They all look super healthy ... must put up some fantastic fights. Always a good trip, when friends are along and the fishing produces fish worth talking about.
