Need some UV resin patterns...

Recommended Posts

I ordered some UV resin, (also have some 5 minute epoxy at home), and I would like to try my hand at making more life like patterns for shrimp and crabs, (or perhaps hoppers), anything with a shell.

Anyone got any links and tips/tricks to pull it off. I've seen a few YouTube videos where guys would cut a straw to use for a shrimp and coat it with resin. Came out looking good though.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't tie "UV Resin patterns", but I use it to build up heads and make flies a lot more durable.

A healthy dose on the head of a deceiver, for example, also allows for much bigger eyes on the fly, which I like.

(Not my video)

Try use EP fibers (or similar) for the body.
And maybe add a red spot of dubbing at the body, and even maybe a small clipped hackle for legs instead of the fibers used in the video...
And you might get:

(my first go at the mysis.)
